SkillsFuture Mid-Career Training Allowance
A national platform supporting training allowance claims for mid-career Singaporeans.
active

Why it existed
The policy intent was clear: support mid-career workers through reskilling. The product challenge was turning that policy into a service that could work across SSG, WSG, GovTech, implementation teams, and real citizen journeys.
The friction it answered
Different agencies had different policy needs, operational concerns, and timelines. Without a shared product frame, the platform could easily become a bundle of competing requirements instead of one coherent service.
What was built
Co-led product development from discovery into delivery: Scope of Work, MVP workshop, gating criteria, scenario mapping, stakeholder alignment, and build work with design, engineering, and QA.
What it left behind
The public impact matters: the platform has served 36,000 mid-career Singaporeans since its 2025 launch. But the deeper learning for me was in the product work behind that number. This project changed how I think about working across agencies, navigating stakeholders without losing the product shape, defining an MVP tightly enough to move, and designing for reuse so future scheme changes do not become a fresh one-off build every time.
